Built in 1914 for Tancrede Auguste who was President of Haiti from August 1912 to May 1913 --  died in office.
Subsequent owner:  Dr. George Nicolas
It is said that the president established the seat of the presidency at his domicile during his tenure and this house may have been the place. 
On a side note, President Tancrede Auguste was the grandfather of  Jacques Roumain, the famous Haitian author.
